Presentation of the International Parliamentarians' Association for Information Technology (IPAIT) President's Summary - International Conference on policymaking and the development of the Information Society, March 2007On 3 and 4 March 2007 the International Conference on The policy-making role of Parliaments in the Development of the Information Society was held in Rome, on the floor of the Chamber of Deputies, attended by delegations of 68 Parliamentary Assemblies, 16 of which were led by the Speaker. Non-parliamentary representatives of other 8 countries together with the United Nations and other major national and international organisations and institutions also took part in the event. The Rapporteurs and MPs taking part in the debate have made original contributions which were received with great interest, and provided basic inputs for this Summary. |
