Support to ICT Strategic Planning in the SADC Parliaments
The Project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in the SADC Parliaments” intends to assist the parliaments of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) in developing their vision and comprehensive strategic plans for the effective deployment of ICT in Parliament. It also aims to assist in strengthening national ICT Parliamentary Committees to enhance their political engagement in the national and regional e-strategy processes.
The Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) in partnership with the Southern Africa Development Community Parliamentary Forum (SADC PF).
The project expected outcomes are: (a) a clear and concise vision statement on ICT in parliament developed and owned by each parliament of the SADC region; (b) a comprehensive ICT strategic plan developed and owned by each parliament; (c) the establishment of a community of practice of ICT strategic planners in parliamentary administrations; (e) the strengthening of the ICT Parliamentary Committees of each parliament to guide the Parliament’s participation in the regional and national e-strategy processes and the development of an equitable information society.
