Catering services

For lunch breaks there is a self-service cafeteria available on the European Parliament premises (ASP building, ground floor) with meal options varying from EUR 6,00 to EUR 10,00. Several restaurants with reasonable lunch offers of EUR 9,00-15,00 can be found at the Luxembourg square in the immediate vicinity of the European Parliament. On 25 November at 18.00 there will be a joint cocktail with finger food and drinks. Coffee and tea will be served in the meeting rooms during the sessions.

Local Transport

Getting from the airport to the city center
Taxis with taximeters are available in front of the arrivals hall at the airport. The fare from the airport to the Brussels city center should be around EUR 35. The train station is located below the terminal (basement level -1). Train ticket (one way) costs EUR 2,90. There is also a direct “Airport line” bus (n. 12 or 11) from the airport (basement level 0) to the European institutions in Brussels. The bus fare is EUR 4,00 (one way) when purchased on the vehicle. Getting around in Brussels
The public transport is easy to use and relatively inexpensive in Brussels. A single ticket costs EUR 1.70 and is valid for one hour on all metro, bus and tram services. Multiple tickets of 5 journeys (EUR 7,00) and of 10 journeys (EUR 11,50) are also available. One-day unlimited travel pass costs EUR 4,50. The tickets are available at vending machines at the metro stations and in kiosks around the city. Bus and tram tickets can also be purchased from the driver. Security

Security arrangements will be very strict as no one may enter the European Parliament premises without a badge. The European Parliament will issue the badge for the participants that register online at the Conference page, within the deadline.

Filming and photographing

For security reasons it is prohibited to film and take photographs inside the European Parliament premises. The official photographer of the European Parliament will be assigned to take photos of the conference.

Photographs of the participants may be taken as a part of registration (new or lost entrance badges to be produced on the spot). Participants are also made aware that some of the sessions of the conference will be filmed and/or web streamed to be published on the Internet and to produce a video reportage of the conference.

Languages

At the Conference, simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French and Spanish.
Official written documentation of the session will be available in English, French and Spanish.

List of Delegates

A provisional List of Participants will be issued on the basis of confirmations received by the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament up to 10 November 2008. For technical reasons, it will not be possible to produce a revised list on the spot, but one will be issued after the end of the Conference and will be placed on the Conference website.
Participants are kindly requested to report any changes in the provisional list to the Registration Desk.

Documents

The official documents of the Conference will be its agenda, background document and the list of participants. These documents will be distributed to participants at the Registration Desk.
Should participants wish to distribute their own documents or other material pertaining to the agenda of the conference, they may use a table provided for that purpose in the immediate vicinity of the meeting room.

Insurance - Liability

The conference organizers cannot be held liable for loss, injury or damage to any person or property or for any additional expenditure incurred due to changes, whatever the causes. Participants are advised to make their own arrangements for health and travel insurance.
