This practical handbook draws on the experiences and practices of several legislatures. It is intended to help parliaments to take informed decisions when developing their capacity to publish records of plenary and committee proceedings. It will be of particular interest to parliaments that do not yet publish their proceedings regularly or on a timely basis. It should also serve those that are looking to identify best practices and deliver better services.

The Inter-Parliamentary Union published the Social Media Guidelines for Parliament. Prepared with support from the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament the Guidelines draw on lessons learned by parliaments so far and on good practice in the social media sphere. The objective is to encourage more widespread, more efficient and more effective use of social media by parliaments.

The Handbook on "Information and Communication Technologies in Parliamentary Libraries", prepared by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the IFLA Section on Library and Research Services for Parliaments through the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament provides in a concise manner an overview of the ICT software, systems and services that can be adopted by parliamentary libraries, a template for their implementation and a series of references to which parliamentary staff can refer while planning to transform their library into an ICT-based institution. En el año 2000, la Unión Interparlamentaria (UIP) publicó sus Directrices para el contenido y la estructura de sitios web parlamentarios. A finales de 2008, y en consulta con la UIP, el Centro Global para TIC en los Parlamentos, emprendió la tarea de actualizar las Directrices a fin de que reflejaran los avances de la tecnología y las nuevas prácticas introducidas en los parlamentos en los últimos años. Al igual que en el caso de las Directrices 2000, con el presente documento, Directrices para sitios web parlamentarios, se procura dar recomendaciones prácticas que faciliten la tarea de planificar y supervisar los sitios web, así como lograr que los parlamentos den consignas concretas a los diseñadores, promotores y administradores de los mismos.

En 2000, l’Union interparlementaire (UIP) publiait ses Principes directeurs relatifs au contenu et à la structure des sites web parlementaires. Fin 2008, le Centre mondial pour les TIC au Parlement a entrepris, en accord avec l’UIP, de mettre à jour les Principes directeurs afin de rendre compte des progrès de la technique et des nouvelles pratiques apparues ces dernières années dans les parlements. Comme les Principes directeurs publiés en 2000, le présent document - Principes directeurs relatifs aux sites web parlementaires - a pour objet de proposer des recommandations pratiques destinées à faciliter le travail d’élaboration et de supervision des sites web et d’aider les parlements à donner des indications concrètes aux personnes chargées de la conception, de l’élaboration et de la gestion de leurs sites web.

In 2000 the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) published Guidelines for the Content and Structure of Parliamentary Websites. In late 2008, the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament, in consultation with the IPU, undertook the task of updating the Guidelines to reflect advances in technology and new practices in parliaments that have emerged in the last several years. As with the 2000 Guidelines, the Guidelines for Parliamentary Websites are intended to provide recommendations that are practically oriented to facilitate the task of planning and overseeing websites and to enable parliaments to provide concrete guidance to their website designers, developers and managers.
