JoinUp Open source is used on 40 percent of all servers and on 15 percent of all desktops in use by public administrations across Spain, according to an inventory done by Cenatic, the country's resource centre on this type of software. One in five public administrations is making its applications available using an open source licence and another 6 percent is planning to do this, soon. Open source is used for mission critical applications in more than half of all public administrations, Cenatic concludes. The survey is meant to analyse the functioning of online communities present on the Joinup, ePractice and Elanet collaborative platforms.
