The Processing of Personal Data in the Electronic Communications Sector Act, adopted on 30 May 2005 and which entered into force on 1 July 2005, transposes the EU Directive on privacy and electronic communications (2002/58/EC). This Act forms part of Luxembourg's legislative Paquet Telecom and it aims at protecting the privacy of Internet users including protection against unsolicited commercial communications or spam.
