9 – 10 June 2008 - The Regional Secretariat for South East European Parliamentary Cooperation and the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament organized on 9-10 June in Sofia the International Workshop on E-Parliament – Challenges and Opportunities of the Regional Approach. The event was held in conjunction with the Sixth General Assembly of the International Parliamentarians’ Association for Information Technology.

The Workshop provided a platform to exchange practices and concrete examples among parliamentary officials on e-Parliament issues, to identify common challenges and opportunities for collaboration within and outside the South-East European region, and to start a consultative mechanism for the formulation of a regional programme on e-parliament.
