Washington D.C. Airports Washington D.C. is served by three airports, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (the closest airport to downtown Washington D.C.); Dulles International Airport (about 40 minute drive from downtown Washington DC); and Baltimore/Washington International Airport. For information on ground transportation to and from airports, please check the airports’ websites. Local transportation Using public transportation is a convenient way to get around Washington DC. The city is divided into quadrants — Northeast (NE), Northwest (NW), Southeast (SE) and Southwest(SW). These sections of town come together around the U. S. Capitol, which marks the center of the city. Addresses in Washington, D. C. include a direction, which tells you which quadrant of the city the address is located in. Please note that the same street name and number may exist in for example, NE as well as NW. Find bellow a list of links to Washington, DC’s main public transportation systems.
Accomodation Delegates are responsible for their own hotel expenses. Delegations from countries having an Embassy or a Diplomatic Mission in Washington, D.C. are kindly requested to make their hotel reservations through their respective Mission. The Missions are used to receiving national delegations and to handling hotel reservations. In fact, many of them have signed preferential tariff agreements with hotels close to the U.S. Capitol. Languages At the Conference, simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French and Spanish. Official documentation of the Conference will be available in English, French and Spanish. |
