The Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP) constituted as a consultative body of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, seeks to facilitate personal contacts between holders of the office of Secretary General in any parliamentary assembly, whether such assembly is a member of the IPU or not. ASGP membership is thus independent of the IPU. The Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS)The Inter-parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) was founded on 27 March 1992 in the city of Alma-Ata (Republic of Kazakhstan). By the Agreement signed by the heads of parliaments of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan Republic and Russian Federation, the Inter-parliamentary Assembly was established as an advisory body for preparation of draft legislative documents of mutual interest. Inter-Parliamentary Forum of the Americas (FIPA)Independent network made up of the national legislatures of those governments who are members of the Organization of American States (OAS). FIPA members are committed to promoting parliamentary participation in the inter-American system and to developing inter-parliamentary dialogue on issues of importance to the hemisphere.
