The World e-Parliament Conference took place in Washington D.C.

The 2009 edition of the World e-Parliament Conference  took place from 3 to 5 November 2009 at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
The Conference is the annual forum of the community of parliaments addressing, from both the policy and technical perspectives, how the use of information and communication technology can help improve representation, transparency, accountability, openness, and effectiveness in the complex parliamentary environment.

NL: The eDepot of National Archives in use
The Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations for the first time hands over a digitally created document to be archived in the eDepot. Normally, documents are archived only after a lapse of 20 years. This document however, dates back only from 2007. Its symbolic transfer is therefore considered as a milestone in the archival world.

Case Studies from Switzerland: E-Voting
This case study examines how these systems have worked in the test cantons of Geneva and Zurich. The evidence and analysis in this case study suggest that e-voting might serve as a powerful tool to augment the participation rate, the quality of voting, and aid in the implementation of political rights. This study also evaluates the risks of e-voting, noting that the concerns around integrity often associated with electronic voting have for the most part not materialized in the Swiss case.
