The 2009 edition of the World e-Parliament Conference took place from 3 to 5 November 2009 at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. NL: The eDepot of National Archives in use |
The Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations for the first time hands over a digitally created document to be archived in the eDepot. Normally, documents are archived only after a lapse of 20 years. This document however, dates back only from 2007. Its symbolic transfer is therefore considered as a milestone in the archival world. Case Studies from Switzerland: E-Voting |
This case study examines how these systems have worked in the test cantons of Geneva and Zurich. The evidence and analysis in this case study suggest that e-voting might serve as a powerful tool to augment the participation rate, the quality of voting, and aid in the implementation of political rights. This study also evaluates the risks of e-voting, noting that the concerns around integrity often associated with electronic voting have for the most part not materialized in the Swiss case.
