The working group of the Steering Committee for eGovernment Strategy has been set up to examine how to make it easier for foreigners who want to move to Denmark as well as for Danes living abroad to communicate with the authorities digitally.

On 8 April 2013, the ‘ELAK im Bund’ (electronic file system) was launched for judicial administration, thanks to the successful cooperation between the Constitutional Court of Austria and the Federal Computing Centre (Die Bundesrechenzentrum – BRZ, in German).

In April 2013, ‘Digital Romania’, the national public centre affiliated to the Ministry of Information Society and the technical operator of the Point of Single Contact, PSC (Punctul de Contact Unic, in Romanian) launched the process of requesting local public administrations to join www.ed

On 14 March 2013, Danielle Gagnaux, the chancellor of Fribourg canton and André Simonazzi, the Federal Council spokesman, launched a revamped version of the ch.ch portal, which provides a quick way of finding information about the confederation, cantons and communes.

As announced on 26 March 2013, the Borrow Books library provides users with a new services that enables them to search the online catalogues and websites of Irish public library authorities and request books, CDs, DVDs, etc. to be delivered to their own local branch.

According to the Electronic Sophistication Index 2012, administered by the Department of Public Administration and Justice of the Basque Government, 35.1 % of the public procedures and processes can be made entirely over the Internet.

In March 2013, the Federal Government announced the creation of a new management system for secure access to online public services and eGovernment applications.

Since the beginning of March 2013, Kela – the national Social Insurance Institution – allows people throughout the country to book their appointments with the institution online.

In March 2013, the Ministry for Information Society awarded a contract to an IT consortium to provide project management consulting services for the software development, training, information provision and promotion of the national small and medium enterprises (SME) portal. The portal is expected to go live in September 2013.

On 16 February 2013, the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski stated that in less than a year a project has created the basis of several eGovernment services.

On 19 February 2013 the director of Grums’ municipality, Ms Margaretha Rudner, launched the municipality’s electronic services on the common electronic services platform of Värmland county (in west-central Sweden).

As announced on 4 March 2013, the municipality of Rotterdam offers lawyers and notaries the possibility to authenticate official documents and information for lawsuits or legacy investigations online, upon request, thanks to the eRecognition initiative.

In February 2013, the Minister of Information Society and Administration, Mr Ivo Ivanovski, announced the launch of a project called the ‘Introduction of a system for tracking the status of a document through the use of mobile technologies’. Its aim is to improve efficiency and ensure greater transparency in public administration.

In early February 2013, the revamped version of the eGovernment portal Guichet.lu as well as the MyGuichet platform went live.

A study, commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, revealed that the use of electronic solutions has changed the way public services work by being 12 times faster and of higher quality than the conventional services.
