Beginning this month (April 2012), providers interested in public procurement will be able to submit their tenders in electronic format via Belgium's federal eTendering platform.

Since 1 January 2012, French contracting authorities have been obliged to accept applications and bids transmitted by electronic means for all purchases worth at least €90 000 excl. VAT, regardless of the subject matter of the public procurement contract (supplies, works, provision of services).

All Dutch government departments have joined the eProcurement system TenderNed. This means that all of them have been able to post their public procurement notices in TenderNed since 1 January 2012, in accordance with a new Public Procurement Act that will be published soon.

On 1 December 2011, the Procurement Office of the German Federal Ministry of Interior introduced new software to support public procurement procedures. The software will be tested for six months and it will be used only in the framework of the procedures of Unit B4 - Weapons, Boats, Tools and Machines industry.

The Director General of the Department of Contracts at Malta's Finance Ministry announced that the first fully-electronic tenders (eTenders) were published in the Government Gazette of 4 October 2011; these eTenders are available from Malta's new Electronic Public Procurement System through the URL
