Ireland's first Rheumatology Telemedicine Outpatient Clinic was held in Roscommon County Hospital (central Ireland) on 7 October 2011. The clinic involved a computer link-up between patients in Roscommon County Hospital and Dr Robert Coughlan, Consultant Rheumatologist in Merlin Park University Hospital, Galway, on the west coast of the country.
