The 2012 Law Via the Internet (LVI 2012) took place at the Cornell Legal Information Institute (Ithaca, New York) from 7 to 9 October 2012 and covered themes on free and open access to legal information: open government and e- participation, legal publishing, open access and sustainability, applications, data management, etc.

La Conférence mondiale 2012 sur l’e-Parlement a eu lieu à la Chambre des députés d'Italie, à Rome, les 13, 14 et 15 Septembre. La clôture de la Conférence a coincidé avec la Journée internationale de la démocratie, établie en 2008 par l'Assemblée générale des Nations Unies.

WSIS Forum 2011 was held from 16th to 20th May 2011 and provided structured opportunities to network, learn and to participate in multi-stakeholder discussions and consultations on WSIS implementation. This event was built upon the tradition of annual WSIS May meetings, and its new format is the result of open consultations with all WSIS Stakeholders.

Globalization increases the need of fast and accurate written communications: fast writing methods play an important role in supporting ICT technology to reach this goal thus helping in eliminating communication barrier even in one-to-one meetings also from distant places and in different languages.

The e-Accessibility Policy Handbook for Persons with Disabilities is based upon the online ITU-G3ict e-Accessibility Policy Toolkit for Persons with Disabilities (www.e-accessibilitytoolkit.org) which was released in February 2010.

The World e-Parliament Conference provided an opportunity to debate the challenges and benefits provided by ICT and analyzed successful approaches, identified good practices and lessons learned.
The Conference was aimed at parliamentarians, Secretaries General and parliamentary staff and officials who work with ICT, such as legislative staff, IT administrators, knowledge managers and librarians.

The World e-Parliament Conference 2010 took place on 21 and 22 October 2010 at the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. The event was co-organized by the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliament of South Africa, the Pan-African Parliament and the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament.
Speeches and presentations

The 4th European eAccessibility Forum to be held in Paris on 12 April 2010 will provide a unique opportunity to discuss the complementary aspects involved in making this objective a reality in Europe. It will provide an opportunity to hear at first-hand about experiences from users with disabilities, public organisations and industry. The speakers are specialists involved in organisations representing users and consumers with disabilities, research organisations and companies operating at a European level or worldwide.

The World e-Parliament Conference 2008 took place at the European Parliament in Brussels on 25 and 26 November 2008. The World e-Parliament Conference 2008 represented a unique opportunity for leaders and members of parliaments, parliamentary officials and experts to exchange views at a global level on new technologies and innovation as tools to strengthen the representative, legislative and oversight functions of regional and national assemblies.

This Law provides for the protection of persons with disabilitites and establishes systems for their integration in society. As regards accessibility, Article 19(f) provides for access to information and communication services.

This Law establishes the legal foundation to allow persons with disabilities to achieve their maximum development, full participation in society, including the exercise of all the rights and obligations.

With regard to ICT, it establishes, in its article 52, that the entity in charge of the national telecommunications systems must ensure that all persons have access to telephone devises.

The provisions of this Act establish the conditions for persons with disabilitites to obtain their full integration in society, including through the use of ICT services.

This Law regulates the rights of disabled to rehabilitation and social integration, their protection and the obligations of the state bodies, municipalities, and economic and public organisations to ensure equal opportunities and accessibility.
