Since it was first established at the request of the speakers of European Parliamentary Assemblies in June 1977, the European Centre for Parliamentary Research & Documentation (ECPRD) has been a useful tool for inter-parliamentary cooperation and information exchange. The data generated by the Centre’s members is extensive and specific information can be hard to track down. Bringing together the information, facilitating the exchange of ideas and making the retrieval of data and the circulation of studies easier is the Centre’s role.

Los Parlamentos se cuentran en una posición estratégica para adoptar las nuevas tecnologías y de esta manera advertir el amplio impacto social que la aplicación de las TIC produce en los valores de apertura y eficiencia del sector público. En este contexto, el contenido del seminario también incluyo temas relacionados con la manera en que los Parlamentos pueden contribuir al fomento de la Sociedad de la Información en la región.

The Italian Senate and Chamber of Deputies hosted the 2009 ICT Working Group meeting on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 November in Rome. The theme for this conference was: "Advanced IT Services for MPs , Citizens and Parliamentary Cooperation".

The 2009 edition of the World e-Parliament Conference  took place from 3 to 5 November 2009 at the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.
The Conference is the annual forum of the community of parliaments addressing, from both the policy and technical perspectives, how the use of information and communication technology can help improve representation, transparency, accountability, openness, and effectiveness in the complex parliamentary environment.

The World e-Parliament Conference 2008 took place at the European Parliament in Brussels on 25 and 26 November 2008. The World e-Parliament Conference 2008 represented a unique opportunity for leaders and members of parliaments, parliamentary officials and experts to exchange views at a global level on new technologies and innovation as tools to strengthen the representative, legislative and oversight functions of regional and national assemblies.
