The World e-Parliament Conference 2010 took place on 21 and 22 October 2010 at the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. The event was co-organized by the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliament of South Africa, the Pan-African Parliament and the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament.

The Workshop “ICT Strategic Planning in the SADC Parliaments”, held from 26 to 28 July 2010 in Windhoek, Namibia, intended to provide a regional platform to raise awareness among the SADC parliaments on the potential of ICT in parliament and on the importance of strategic planning for the effective adoption and integration of ICT in parliamentary processes.

The Project “Support to ICT Strategic Planning in the SADC Parliaments” intends to assist the parliaments of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) in developing their vision and comprehensive strategic plans for the effective deployment of ICT in Parliament. It also aims to assist in strengthening national ICT Parliamentary Committees to enhance their political engagement in the national and regional e-strategy processes.

Representatives of 42 assembly secretariats from 32 countries, including Korea, Japan, China, Turkey and Australia, got together in Seoul from July 8-9 to inaugurate the Secretaries-General Forum of Asia-Pacific Parliaments (SGFAPP) with the goal of strengthening the parliamentary network of the Asia-Pacific region. The inaugural forum, held under the theme "Cooperation of Parliaments, Beginning of a New Asia-Pacific Era", was the first official meeting of parliamentary secretaries-general in the Asia-Pacific region designed to find ways of promoting cooperation.

The ECOWAS Parliament is the Assembly of the people of the Economic Community Of West African States. Members of the Parliament are deemed to represent all citizens of West Africa. It provides advisory opinion on issues covering a wide range of areas that are of crucial importance for the integration process in the region. These include respect for human rights, the interconnection of communication and telecommunication links, health, education, and revisions of basic community texts.

The Pan-African Parliament was established in March 2004, by Article 17 of The Constitutive Act of the African Union, as one of the nine Organs provided for in the Treaty Establishing the African Economic Community signed in Abuja , Nigeria , in 1991. The establishment of the Pan-African Parliament is informed by a vision to provide a common platform for African peoples and their grass-roots organizations to be more involved in discussions and decision-making on the problems and challenges facing the continent.

The Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) was born in 2006 at the Seventh Session of the Association of Asian Parliamentary for Peace (AAPP). In other words, the APA is continuation of an organization which was established in 1999. The APA comprises, in 2007, of 41 Member Parliaments and 17 observers. Each Member Parliament has a specific number of seats in the Assembly based on the size of their population. The number of total seats, and therefore, number of votes, is currently 206. Members of Assembly must be elected by members of the Member Parliaments.
